This is my final version of my CD cover for my music album.
This is my final front cover for my CD album.
Overall, I am very happy with what I have produced and I feel that it includes all the conventions needed for a CD cover.
I decided to use both the name of the artist and the album on the front cover. Though this is not always used, I decided to do this, because I believe it is convenient to have both names on the cover.
I wanted to keep the front cover simple, which is why I used this specific image and text.
The red text is clear even though it overlaps the subject and also is representative of the genre of the music. It would attract my target audience, especially as I am targeting at young girls The white text has been used because it is very clear to read, especially with the darker background.
The font used is clear to read for the audience but is also somewhat script like. As the font can be seen as 'elegant' it connotes a sense of freedom and carefree. This is ideal because the album is about personal experiences which the artist needs to move on from and can be sharing from her system.
The image used itself can also connote a sense of letting go of the past for the artist. This can be shown by how she is positioned because she looks like she is looking behind her to her past experiences. This links to the main track of the album and my music video. This is showing continuity.
I decided to overlap the writing with the main subject of the image and the CD because this is something used in various CD covers especially ones of Taylor Swift. (Right)
This gives more focus on the centre and the subject of the cover.
